This is a Brain Storm AU, in which Rodney takes John on that secret science presentation date.

8200 words, PG-13, McKay/Sheppard, humor, written for the S5 Tagathon on

Similarities to the episode are a given, similarities to other Brain Storm AUs are entirely incidental, as I've managed to stop myself from reading any so far. Surprisingly little dialog was taken from the episode, but the general plot was.

Rodney had no trouble imagining the response he would get when he walked up to Sheppard, a millionaire, and suggested, 'Hey, how about you drop everything, leave your business and your huge mansion, and come with us to another galaxy, where you're probably going to die within a month or two? Are you in?"
