I've been wanting to do this for a while. Podfic! What's not to like about podfic? *g*
These are old faves as well as relatively new findings. Without further ado and in no particular order:
House
The Fine and Subtle Art of Cardiology
Written by
rageprufrock, read by
twilight_angel. House/Wilson, 0:57:06.
So very House. Snarky and fun.
Due South
Under the Skin
Written by
j_s_cavalcante, read by
zabira. Fraser/RayK, 1:01:16.
Ray is fabulous in this. And there's the guh, too. But most of all, Ray. Plus, I could listen to
zabira reading Ray-POV day in day out. It's just that good.
The Teeth of the Hydra
Written by
resonant8, read by
general_jinjur. Fraser/RayK, 2:27:43.
Fabulous case fic, providing Ray/Stella backstory.
Gun, With Occasional Kangaroo: A Love Story
Written by
runpunkrun, read by
zabira. Fraser/RayK, 1:19:18.
A classic. Oh-so-funny. With actual kangaroo.
Merlin
And None But We Can Be Such Kings
Written by
janne_d, read by
thisissirius. Merlin/Arthur, 0:48:04.
Just delightful!
In Time of Trial
Written by Shine, read by
pandarus. Merlin/Arthur, 4:08:07.
Long and delicious. Spring cleaning almost did itself with this on my ears.
Leverage
The Underwire Job and The Cat-Burglar Job
Written by
brown_betty and
emeraldwoman, read by
aphelant. Parker/Hardison, 0:28:04, and Parker/Hardison/Spencer, 1:10:04.
Incredibly in character and just very, very funny.
Stargate SG-1
Cascade (mp3), or as m4b
Written by
kylielee1000 (working link to the text here), read by
dodificus. Cameron Mitchell/Daniel Jackson, 2:59:47.
Maybe it's the fact that I've never given the settling-in period of the new SG-1 much thought, or maybe it's the great characterization of Daniel, or the rare pairing thing-- I can't put my finger on exactly why I like this so much. It's a mission fic, and a character development fic, and it's hot, too, which is always a plus.
Stargate Atlantis
Ordinary Life
Written by
astolat and
cesperanza, read by
zoetrope. McKay/Sheppard, 1:49:22.
This is the perfect example for a story that works better for me as a podfic than in written form. Maybe it's the adventure part of this?
By the End of April
Written by
lavvyan, read by
terialk. AU, McKay/Sheppard, 1:04:54.
The author herself calls this a B-movie kind of AU, and it is. A delightful one. Maybe that's why it works so well as a podfic? (See rec above...)
Yoshino
Written by
auburnnothenna and
eretria, read by
dodificus. McKay/Sheppard/Carter, 1:44:22.
Er, guh? There's really nothing much else to say here. Guh.
Harry Potter
Tissue of Silver
Written by fearlessdiva, read by
pandarus. Harry/Draco, 8:10:37.
In the future, Auror Harry is assigned to protect Draco. Fabulous podfic.
Reparo
Written by
amalin, read by
pennyplainknits. Harry/Draco, 8:15:30.
This, basically, blew me away. It paints such a credible picture of post-war events. It's a joy to listen to throughout.
Supernatural
Asunder
Written by
rageprufrock, read by
2naonh3_cl2. AU, Dean/Castiel, 2:16:14.
I'm not much for Supernatural complete AUs, but this one really got me, right from the beginning. It twists canon in interesting ways to fit it perfectly into a parallel universe. Plus, the reading is fabulous.
The Fourth Wall Series
Written by
entangled_now, read by
cookiemom6067. Dean/Castiel and Sam/Lucifer, 4:31:01.
Hilarious. With a capital 'H'. And then-- something more. I rec'd the series before, and I keep coming back to the podfic version, too.
