To celebrate the guh! all around:

Actually, my next vid was supposed to be SGA, but it turns out that I don't choose the vids, they choose me.

It was the song that did it this time. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] naye, who made me aware that 'Paloma' by Carbon Leaf existed, it hit me like a ton of bricks one day that this was so very Donna. Because:

Donna, you were brilliant.

I got myself this shiny new, insanely fast computer about a month ago, and new vidding software, too. I dearly love either of them, and the both of them in combination just rock. Because they do not trash my vid files at random intervals anymore!

There was this vid idea that I had started on four or five times before, but at one point or other the files always got partly deleted or otherwise mangled. It was the perfect thing to start out with. It's an SGA Aurora vid. Aurora exclusively.

Why? For one, because this episode is just made of win and still one of my favorites. It features the best possible John/Rodney snark, the saving-each-others'-lives routine, and Teyla improvising techno-babble. What's not to love? Also, Aurora is the most viddable (Is that even a word?) episode in the history of ever. See:

Title: Alone
Music: Kane
Warnings: Do I have to point out that this is practically one giant spoiler for Aurora?

Doctor Who has caught me in a way nothing else has in a long time. Therefore, vid.

Title: When I Get Over You
Music: Venice
Notes: Season 2, Doctor/Rose. I didn't exactly ship them before, except now I kind of do? A little?

And if anyone happens to know a place to announce this to a more numerous audience, please tell me? Because I really don't know my way around the DW fandom. Thanks for the pointers!

I realized today that I haven't checked my f-list for what, a week? How does that happen? Okay, so I was away for the weekend, and then Doctor Who seriously distracted me, but still, huh?

That which stayed unnoticed (among other things):
The Meet the Hewletts and Meet LJ friends event reactions. [livejournal.com profile] tacit_uk posted her wonderful take on our fannish days here. Plus, there are puppy and kitten pictures! [livejournal.com profile] naye's report on the Hewletts event is very detailed (She took notes!) and just as awesome.

That which has taken too long:
Finally, I posted the sign-up entry for the Season Five Tagathon are open over at [livejournal.com profile] sga_episodefic. I'll participate too, it's only fair. *g* Writing a tag for every episode this season is going to be a real challenge. I never signed up for anything before -- I'm curious how I'm going to do fannish work under pressure. I really can't tell.

That which I always neglected:
Vidding. I'd forgotten how much I love it. We watched so many really good fanvids during our fannish long weekend. I never thought I was particularly good at vidding until [livejournal.com profile] naye got positively excited about this SG1 vid I made a while ago. Without knowing it was actually mine. I blushed. Seriously, very deeply. Because I know that she has very good taste. It made me rethink my decision to give up vidding, and boosted my motivation, even though my #&@%ing computer drives me totally crazy with its slowness and trashing of files. The result was a Doctor Who vid, and two days of serious fun.

I never really advertised that SG1 vid from a while ago. I had to correct that:

Title: Fiction
Music: Nik Kershaw
Fandom: SG-1
Notes: The truth is stranger than fiction. This vid was inspired by 'Citizen Joe' and 'Wormhole X-treme'.

ETA: Oh my god, I've been nominated! Look:

Isn't this unbelievably awesome? Well, it is to me, anyway!

A little not-so-little-anymore fanfiction and podfic and vid inventory list.

This is what I've posted so far )
